Juan Carlos Al-Shumali: A Uruguayan businessman and banker of Palestinian origin from the city of Beit Sahour, who also holds Chilean citizenship. He is considered one of the most prominent businessmen in Uruguay, as he heads the largest private bank in the country, Santander Bank, where he had great credit in managing the financial crisis in 2012 and reviving the bank to emerge from this crisis successfully, and thus acquired many banks and financial and banking companies. He received the Order of Merit from the President of Uruguay in recognition of his financial achievements.
