Maher Zaiter: An Austrian engineer of Palestinian origin, he is considered one of the most skilled Austrian engineers. He and a group of his colleagues established the first Union of Palestinian Engineers in Austria in 2005. He prepared a comprehensive and advanced engineering design for the old Firas market located in Gaza City without compromising the market's heritage form, out of his keenness to preserve its splendor and authenticity. Engineer Zaiter is also an active and effective member of the Palestinian community in Austria.
