Mohammad Abu Ghazaleh is a Chilean businessman of Palestinian origin who owns Fresh Del Monte Produce, a company founded in 1892 and recognized globally as a leader in the production, marketing, and distribution of fresh products, fruits, vegetables, and ready-to-eat foods across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
The company employs over 38,000 staff members, and Mohammad Abu Ghazaleh travels annually to 24 countries where the giant Del Monte operates. He serves as Chairman of the Board, and the company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange with annual sales exceeding $4 billion, making it the second-largest company in the world in the fruits and vegetables sector.
Del Monte owns vast land holdings in Chile, Paraguay, Honduras, Costa Rica, Kenya, and the Philippines, in addition to significant investments in Jordan, such as the National Poultry Company, investments in aviation and insurance, and the establishment of Georges Clemenceau Hospital in Beirut, which is the largest hospital in the Lebanese capital.
