Abu-Ghazaleh at the Palestinian Business Forum: We will Work on Palestine WTO Membership

The Forum held under the theme "Continued Development…. Joint Responsibility" witnessed the participation of more than 1200 businessmen and 20 societies and association for businessmen who gathered in Tunisia to serve the Palestinian economy
TUNIS ------- December 19, 2012---------- HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and All for Palestine Society said that he is working hard on the inclusion of Palestine in the World Trade Organization (WTO) and in the World Intellectual property organization (WIPO) and any other international bodies after the United Nations General Assembly endorsed an upgraded UN status for Palestine from "non-member observer entity" to "non-member observer state

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed at the 3rd Palestinian Business Forum (PBF) held under the patronage of the Tunisian Prime Minister Hammadi Al Jabali in the Tunisian capital that Palestine should be blessed with peace.

"Palestine should be blessed with peace but there is no peace with an occupier and this enemy should leave first," he said.

The Forum held under the theme "Continued Development…. Joint Responsibility" witnessed the participation of more than 1200 businessmen and 20 societies and association for businessmen who gathered in Tunisia to serve the Palestinian economy.

In his keynote speech, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh tackled youth and knowledge and launched three initiatives to support the Palestinians.

"Today, we announce the launch of "All for Palestine", "Palestinian E-market " and "Jerusalem E –market" to support the creativity of the Palestinians in all areas who despite the suffering were able to show their ability to  contribute to the development of modern civilization in terms of inventions, literature, education, banking and other business areas," he said.

"With "All for Palestine", we want to highlight the Palestinian creativity in all parts of the globe and show the true image of this great nation that deserves to feel alive alongside civilized nations. It includes inventors, artists, innovators who received global certificates, awards and recognitions by international institutions," he added.
According to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, the Palestinian E- market initiative aims at developing an electronic portal to serve the Palestinian businessmen at home and abroad.

"Businessmen will be able to trade electronically through the site by e-commerce. Meanwhile, the Jerusalem E-Market Initiative which is developed by TAG-Org to make it a real market between Palestine and the world. It includes the shops of the Old City of Jerusalem's market and the products it has and displays them in a way that enables the site's visitors to virtually shop and tour throughout the Holy City," he said.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh focused on the role of youth in driving knowledge forward saying:" Palestinian youths use the Internet and technology more than other youth that is why we need to establish a knowledge- based youth to build a better future."

He also announced that TAGIPEDIA the first credible Arabic Encyclopedia will see the light soon.

"TAGIPEDIA will be available free of charge to the general public. However, no one is allowed to add any information unless verified and monitored to ensure it is useful, harmless and inoffensive," he said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Abu Obeida Hafez, head of the Palestinian Business Forum said: "We hope that this conference will create some kind of a link among participants from all over the world. We are happy to see many interested people joining us here to find investment opportunities."

He pointed out that this conference gives great importance to young entrepreneurs by introducing the "Fikrati" initiative, which seeks to help young Palestinians to transform from mere job seekers to owners of productive projects. The conference will witness a shift in using technology for the benefit of Palestinian economy, by the Palestine Investment Market and Jerusalem Investment Market, which will be launched under the patronage of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization, in addition to the Forum's economic portal "Invtree".

At the end of the Forum, Dr. Hafez presented HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh with an Honorary Shield for his effort and numerous initiatives that contribute to the support of the Palestinians.
