'All for Palestine' Board of Trustees Convenes, Develops Standards for Establishing Databases of Distinguished Palestinians. The Board decides to apply to register the Society as a member in the United Nations Economic and Social Council.



AMMAN - February 7, 2012.

The second meeting of the “All for Palestine” Society Board of Trustees was convened in the presence of Chairman of the Society HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh to discuss resolutions and recommendations concluded during the first meeting of the Board held at the Arab World Institute in Paris in September 2011.

At the beginning of the meeting, HE Abu-Ghazaleh highly commended the efforts and dedication of the Board and members headed by HE Dr. Sabri Saidam, the Society's coordinator to manifest the creativity of the Palestinian people and their contribution to the modern human civilization in terms of inventions, literature, education, medical care, banking and other areas of creativity, stressing at the same time the non-political capacity of the Society.

Participants highlighted several topics on the meeting’s agenda mainly the mission and objectives of the Society stating that the Society aims at underlining the Palestinian contribution to the human civilization even with the ongoing oppression they encounter on a daily basis. The attendees collectively stated that the Society aims to give hope and aspiration mainly to the youth generation that our victory in this battle is a civilized triumph and that our survival as a nation is defined in our excellence and creativity.

Moreover, the Board addressed the issue of establishing a database of creative Palestinians in all areas of creativity according to international standards and a committee was decided to be formed consisting of HE Ambassador Hassan Abdel Rahman, Dr. As'ad Abdul Rahman, Dr. Khaled Salaymeh and Ms. Zainab El Hassan to formulate and develop standards to be presented to the Board and another committee to check the databases and consists of Dr. Mohammad Al Taweel, Dr. Ali Marouf, Dr. Khaled Salaymeh and Ms. Zainab El Hassan.

Participants also discussed the necessity of preparing all the needed statistics of the innovative Palestinians in all fields of knowledge, dealing with the proportion of learners which is one of the highest in the world, and the proportion of digital knowledge and university graduates, as well as the proportion of doctors, university professors, inventors, and the proportion of Palestinian creative women in all areas, in addition to the proportion of persons with disabilities who have innovations in certain areas.

The Board decided to select area coordinators to benefit from a wider network, and to facilitate access to all information and groupings of the Palestinian people, in addition, president deputies in several regions were selected as follows:
• Dr. Ali Marouf for the European Union region
• Dr. Mohammed Al Taweel for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region
• Dr. Abu-Obaidah Hafez for the rest of the Arab countries
• Mr. Hassan Abdel Rahman, the United States and Latin America
• Mr. Mohammad Ghazal for the continent of Australia, East Asia and China.

The Board decided to apply to register the Society as a member in the United Nations Economic and Social Council and discussed other topics on the agenda, including the media plan and website, publications and other administrative and regulatory issues.

The Board of Trustees will hold its next meeting in Bahrain in coordination with the Office of the United Nations in Manama, under an official patronage on May 13, 2012 for the declaration of the Society in the Arab world.

The Society’s General Meeting has been decided to convene in Amman on October 27, 2012 to revise various reports and expand the board of trustees.

The institutional assembly of All for Palestine Association was convened at the Arab World Institute in Paris on September 17, 2011 under the title "Palestinians' Contribution to Human Civilization". At its first meeting, the assembly elected a board of trustees chaired by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and membership of 19 other prominent figures from all over the world in addition to work committees.
