He was born in Beit Safafa, Jerusalem, in 1940 to a merchant father. He completed his school education in Hebron in 1959 and earned a BA in Arabic Language from Cairo University in 1964.

He began his career in the education sector as an Arabic language teacher in Hebron schools. He also worked abroad for a period in Hadhramaut before returning to work at the Teachers Institute. He currently works as an educational supervisor in private schools.

In addition to his teaching career, he is a poet who writes in both traditional and free verse styles. He has also written plays and published three poetry collections: An Unpublished Manuscript Collection, titled Autumn Harvest, My Eyes on Hebron, Point of View, and Embers Under the Ashes.

He joined the General Assembly of the Association for the 1974 session and was elected as a member of the Association Council for the sessions 1983, 1986, and 1991.

He is actively involved in social and charitable work and participates in many cultural and union activities. Additionally, he works as a linguistic proofreader for master's theses at universities in the West Bank.
