Dr. Majed Dwaik is the Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences and a distinguished radiologist with extensive academic and clinical experience spanning over three decades across Palestine, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain. His expertise in diagnostic radiology has been matched by a long-standing commitment to medical education and scholarly publication.
Dr. Dwaik earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) from Assiut University, Egypt, in 1982. He later obtained a Diploma in Medical Radiodiagnosis (DMRD) from the University of Wales in 1988, followed by the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in London in 1992.
Throughout his career, Dr. Dwaik has served as a radiologist and head of department in multiple hospitals in the West Bank, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain. He held academic positions including Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean at Al-Quds University Medical School from 2002 to 2009, and Senior Lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons in Bahrain between 2011 and 2015.
Dr. Dwaik has contributed significantly to the field of radiology through numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and medical bulletins. His research includes clinical and editorial work on topics such as radiology error management, aortic dissection imaging, portal vein thrombosis related to laparoscopy, and clinico-radiological correlations in multiple sclerosis. His co-authored articles have appeared in the Palestinian Medical Journal (PMJ), Clinical Radiology, and international platforms such as Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Advanced Surgical Techniques. He has also contributed educational X-ray quizzes and public awareness articles on mammography.
In addition to his academic and clinical responsibilities, Dr. Dwaik served as Co-editor of the Palestinian Medical Journal (PMJ) from 2004 to 2006, playing a vital role in advancing medical publishing in Palestine.
