Ahmad Muhammad Suleiman al-Farra (Abu Maher; born January 10, 1946 in Khan Yunis ) is a Palestinian diplomat , politician, and member of the Fatah movement . He was the representative of the Palestine Liberation Organization to Pakistan , Afghanistan , and Malaysia , the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Malaysia and the Philippines , a member of the Palestinian National Council , and a governor in the Palestinian Ministry of Interior.

His life

Al-Farra was born in Khan Yunis on January 10, 1946, during the British Mandate over Palestine . 

He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Alexandria University in Egypt in 1972 and was the President of the General Union of Palestinian Students there. He obtained a Master's degree in International Relations from the University of Karachi in Pakistan in 1978. He also received an honorary doctorate from the University of Malaya in Malaysia in 1984.
He assumed the task of representing the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Fatah movement in Karachi, Pakistan, in 1975, and continued until 1979, when he was transferred to represent the organization in Afghanistan, where he continued until 1982.

Later, he was appointed as the representative of the Palestine Liberation Organization to Malaysia in 1982, after Malaysia granted the organization full diplomatic representation in 1981. In 1989, full diplomatic relations were established between the two countries and he was called the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Malaysia and continued in the position until 2005.

During his tenure as Palestinian Ambassador to Malaysia, he was appointed in 1995 as the non-resident Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Philippines and continued in the position until 2005.

He became a member of the Palestinian National Council after holding its twenty-first session in Gaza City in 1996.

On January 1, 1998, Palestinian President Yasser Arafat appointed him governor of the Palestinian Ministry of Interior .

On 14 February 2006, he was granted exceptional approval to extend his service until 25 February 2007 to nominate him to assume the position of Head of the Palestinian Mission to Cyprus , a position he did not subsequently assume.
