Riyad Attari (May 9, 1963-) is a Palestinian politician and social activist . He served as Minister of the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture in the government of Mohammad Shtayyeh between 2019 and 2024. He is a member of the Palestinian National Council 

Early life and education

Riyad Muhammad Yousef Attari was born in the town of Araba in the Jenin Governorate in the northern West Bank . He obtained a master's degree in sociology , development and policy-making from Birzeit University . 

Practical life

He was a member of the Birzeit University Student Council, representing the Democratic Front in the Student Activity Follow-up Committee and the Persecuted Persons Follow-up Committee in 1987, headed by Marwan Barghouti . 

In 1989, he participated in the founding of the Palestinian Democratic Union - FIDA .  He ran in the 2006 Palestinian legislative elections in the Jenin district . 

On April 13, 2019, Riyad Attari was sworn in as Palestinian Minister of Agriculture in the government of Mohammad Shtayyeh and continued in the position until March 31, 2024.
