Hany Abu-Assad: A Dutch director of Palestinian origin from the city of Nazareth. He studied aerodynamics in Haarlem and worked as an aeronautical engineer in the Netherlands for many years. He entered the world of cinema and television as a director and directed the film September in 1990. He directed the Palestinian film Paradise Now, which won the Best Foreign Film award from the Hollywood Film Critics Association. He received an Oscar and the Golden Calf Award in the Netherlands as the best Dutch film.
