Ismail Al-Dabbagh is a Palestinian actor, director, and playwright. He started with the Jerusalem Hakawati Theater troupe, before establishing the Narrators Theater troupe in 1987. Since its founding, he has presented more than 20 theatrical works with the Narrators, including:

The Scavenger (1989)
Ansar (1990)
“The Painful Events in the Life of Abu Halima” (2008)
“Corruption Street” (2009).
In cinema, Ismail Al-Dabbagh played roles in films including:

“As if we were twenty impossible” (2003)
“Salt of this Sea” (2008)
“The Beer Film,” (2012).
On television, he directed the series “Bab al-Amoud” in two seasons (2013 - 2015) and was the main actor in it. He also worked in several Palestinian theaters, such as the Kasbah Theater, and presented several theatrical works with him, “Stories Under Occupation” (2003), “The Wall” (2005), and “Wedding.” Blood” (2006)

He worked in children's theater with the Narrators' Troupe and gave tours in the governorates of Palestine. Among his plays are: “Hadidun and the Ghoula,” “The Magic Pot,” “Kokoriko,” “The Treasure,” and the play Abu al-Maghawir.


He wrote and acted in several television series, “Aila and Halila,” “Who Is,” “Matab,” and the Migrant Hearts series. He also participated in several Arab and international festivals, and won several awards, including the Oslo International Festival of Modern Theater Award (2012) for the play Abu Halima and the Best Actor Award. At the Amsterdam Festival (1989) for the play “The Birds,” he wrote and acted in the play “Oslo, Jerusalem, on the contrary,” a joint Palestinian-Norwegian production (2013). He had several tours in Europe, America, and Asia with several Palestinian troupes and theaters.
