Fadi Mohammed Al-Batsh was born in Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip, on June 24, 1983. He is married and has two daughters and a son. He studied primary school in Tabuk schools in Saudi Arabia, and secondary school at Othman bin Affan School in Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip. He obtained a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Islamic University of Gaza in 2006, a master's degree in the same specialization from the same university in 2009, and a doctorate in power electronics from the University of Malaya in Malaysia in 2016.

Al-Batsh worked as an engineer at the Energy Authority in Gaza between 2009-2010, then as a lecturer at the University of Kuala Lumpur (UNIKL) between 2010-2016. He has a patent in the fields of increasing the efficiency of electrical power networks, improving the efficiency of the electrical transmission network, and transmitting electrical power from generating stations to distant cities.

He published eighteen peer-reviewed scientific research papers in international journals, and participated in many scientific conferences in Malaysia, Japan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Britain, and Spain. He received a number of grants and awards, and was the first Arab to receive the “Khazanah” government grant from Malaysia in 2016, and the Best Research Award in three scientific conferences. He was also chosen as a reviewer for research in ten scientific journals.

Al-Batsh adopted Islamic thought, joined the Hamas movement, and was active in advocacy work, especially in the field of memorizing the Qur’an. He was also active in union and academic work, and was a founder of the International Gathering of Palestinian Engineers in Malaysia, a member of the Palestinian Engineers Syndicate, a member of the International Boycott Organization, and the Director of Palestinian Affairs at the Malaysian Reconstruction Authority.

He was assassinated by the Zionist Mossad on April 21, 2018 in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, by shooting him with a silencer pistol while he was on his way to dawn prayers. Zionist media reported that al-Batsh was a Hamas engineer and a drone specialist. His body was transferred to the Gaza Strip and buried in Jabalia.
