Dr. Bilal Ghareeb is an Associate Professor and full-time faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology at the College of Science. With expertise in genetics, molecular biology, and biotechnology, Dr. Ghareeb brings a multidisciplinary approach to teaching and research. He teaches a wide array of undergraduate and graduate courses, including General Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering, Human Physiology, Evolutionary Biology, and Molecular Genetics and Genomics. His research spans cytotoxicity studies, ethnobotany, genetic mapping, and the intersection of genetics with Islamic ethics and environmental health.
He has published extensively in both national and international journals on topics such as the genetic toxicity of medicinal plants, anti-obesity phytochemicals, and genetic applications from a Qur’anic and Hadith perspective. Dr. Ghareeb is multilingual in Arabic, English, and French and has participated in numerous academic conferences, particularly in the areas of plant genetics, biotechnology, and Islamic bioethics. Through his work, he contributes to advancing scientific understanding while promoting culturally relevant applications in health, agriculture, and environmental studies.
