Hani Nigim is a Professor of Engineering with many years of research, teaching, and consulting
experience. He was awarded his PhD degree from Leicester University, England, in 1981. Since then,
Professor Nigim has held many academic positions such as Dean of Engineering at Birzeit in the West
Bank, and the University President of Al Azhar University in Gaza Strip.
Currently, Professor Nigim is the Coordinator of the National Tertiary Education Project which is funded
by World Bank. He was visiting professor and invited speaker to many international academic and
industrial institutions; UK, USA, Germany, France, Japan, China, South Korea etc.
Professor Nigim has many publications in specialized journals. In addition, he has organized many
engineering conferences and exhibitions held in Palestine and abroad.
He has served on numerous Professional Committees, Boards of Directors and Trustees.
Also, he is member/Fellow of a number of regional and international professional institutions and
syndicates.
