Ali Hassan Nayfeh is a Palestinian professor from the village of Shweikeh, near Tulkarm. He enrolled at Stanford University in the United States, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in just two and a half years, his master’s degree in one year, and his Ph.D. shortly after—completing all three degrees in four and a half years, a record that remains unprecedented in the U.S., according to academic investigations.

Professor Nayfeh supervised 75 Ph.D. and postdoctoral students in engineering, mathematics, and physics, and published 415 original research papers in prestigious peer-reviewed scientific journals—averaging more than one publication per month. His work has been cited over 15,000 times.

He also authored 10 scientific books in engineering, applied mathematics, and physics, which are taught at many universities—including Israeli institutions—and some have been translated into Chinese, Japanese, and Russian. Additionally, he contributed 37 chapters to collaborative scientific and engineering volumes and holds several patents registered in the United States, Europe, China, and Japan.

Professor Nayfeh received the Benjamin Franklin Medal in Mechanical Engineering, the highest honor in the field—an award that has also been granted to the renowned physicist Albert Einstein.
