Academic Qualifications

Dr. Salama Mohammed Walid Salem Salama holds a PhD in Law and Administrative Sciences from Abdelmalek Essaadi University, Morocco, awarded in 2014. He obtained a Master's degree in Business Management from An-Najah National University, Palestine, in 2003. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Management and Leadership from Al-Quds Open University, Palestine, in 1999.

Professional Experience

Dr. Salama has extensive experience in academic administration, university management, and institutional leadership. He began his professional career as an Accountant and Administrator at Al Sharq Accounting Firm, where he worked from October 1999 to March 2002. He then joined UNRWA as a Project Coordinator from July 2002 to June 2003.
In October 2003, he joined Al-Quds Open University as a faculty member and continued in this role until August 2015. He subsequently served as an Administrative Assistant at the university from August 2015 to August 2016.
From September 2016 to August 2017, he served as Acting Director of the Tulkarm Branch of Al-Quds Open University. He was then appointed Tulkarm Branch Manager, a position he held from September 2017 until May 2022.
Since June 2022, Dr. Salama has served as Acting Dean of Student Affairs at Al-Quds Open University.

Research Interests

Dr. Salama's academic and research interests encompass areas related to administrative sciences, organizational development, strategic planning, institutional performance, administrative creativity, organizational culture, crisis management, and sustainable development.
His research particularly addresses the relationship between organizational practices and institutional performance within Palestinian public and civil society organizations.

Research and Scholarly Publications

Dr. Salama has contributed to academic research through a number of studies published or accepted for publication in peer-reviewed journals. His scholarly work addresses organizational agility, organizational culture, employee performance, strategic planning, renewable energy, sustainable development, administrative creativity, work environments, crisis management, and institutional performance.

His research includes:
"Organizational Agility as a Mediating Variable in the Relationship between Organizational Culture and Employee Performance in Civil Society Organizations Operating in Salfit Governorate." This joint research study was accepted for publication in the Palestine Technical University Journal of Research in 2024.
"Renewable Energy as a Mediating Variable in the Relationship between Strategic Planning and Sustainable Development in Palestinian Local Authorities." This collaborative study was accepted for publication in the Jordanian Journal of Applied Sciences in 2024.
"The Role of the Work Environment in Enhancing Administrative Creativity among Jawwal Company Employees in the Northern Palestinian Governorates." This single-authored study was accepted for publication in the Hebron University Journal in 2025.
"The Impact of Crisis Management Practices on Enhancing Institutional Performance in Palestinian Local Authorities in Light of the Events of October 7th." This single-authored study was accepted for publication in the Arab Journal of Management, published by the Arab Organization for Administrative Development, in 2025.

Academic and Administrative Leadership

Throughout his career at Al-Quds Open University, Dr. Salama has combined academic responsibilities with significant administrative and leadership positions. His experience includes university branch management, academic administration, student affairs, institutional coordination, and the management of university services.
His current role as Acting Dean of Student Affairs reflects his extensive experience in university administration and his involvement in supporting students and managing student-related programs and services.
