Shaher Hajjah

Biography of Dr. Shaher Hajjah
He obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, in addition to a PhD in Agricultural
Economics, from the Academy of Economic Studies – Bucharest – Romania, in 1982.
He has served as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture/Al-Quds Open University since 2008 until now.
He worked as the director of the Dura Study Center from 2000 until 2008.
He worked as a faculty member at Al-Quds Open University from 1993 until 1999.
He worked as a full-time faculty member at the Faculty of Agriculture at Al-Quds Open University/Hebron Branch between 1992 and 1993.
He worked as a part-time faculty member at the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Finance and Management at Hebron University from 1991 until 1993.
He worked as a lecturer and dean of the Modern Community College/Ramallah from 1985 until 1991.
Social, intellectual, literary, and political work:
Member of the Academic Council at Al-Quds Open University.
President of the General Union of Palestinian Students in Romania throughout his studies there.
He served as Secretary of Agricultural Services in Palestine from 1995 to 2001.
Council member and member of the administrative body of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society/Hebron branch.
He is a member of the Arab Economists Association, a member of the Hebron University
Graduates Association, and served as a member of the administrative board of the Dura
Cultural Center and a member of the Dura Municipality.

Member of the National Committee for Supervising, Monitoring and Preparing the Agricultural Scientific Research Strategy in Palestine.

His scientific interests included participation in:

Preparation of the Agriculture in Palestine course/ Al-Quds Open University/ 1995 and the Practical Training (1+2) course book/ Al-Quds Open University/ 2011.
He chaired several preparatory and scientific committees for various conferences.
He received several certificates of appreciation for his participation in scientific conferences, including:
the Agricultural Development Conference/Qalqilya, the Jericho and Jordan Valley Conference: Reality and Challenges, the Arab Heritage Conference in Hebron Governorate, the Salfit Conference: Challenges and Hopes, the Agricultural Development Conference in the Jordan Valley Governorate, and the Conference on the Reality of Livestock, Pastures and Agricultural Extension in the Jordan Valley.
