Biography of Dr. Eng. Walid Awad:
Dr. M. Walid Awad joined the Al-Quds Open University family in 1999 as a part-time lecturer, and currently holds the position of Acting Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Applied Sciences at Al-Quds Open University.
He worked as the head of the Information and Communications Technology Department at Al-Quds Open University from 2007 to 2008.
He worked as the head of the Information and Communications Technology Department at Al-Quds Open University from 2012 to 2016.
He worked as a field training coordinator at Al-Quds Open University from 2016 to 2018.
He worked as an engineer at the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation from 2000-2004
He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering/Communications Engineering Department from Alexandria University, Egypt, obtained in 2012, and a Master's degree in Communications and Electronics Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Egypt, obtained in 1998.
He authored the course on electrical and electronic circuit analysis in the Ibn Sina Virtual University project.
He is a member of the College Council and head of the departments of the Specialization Councils at Al-Quds Open University. He also served as a member of the Scientific Committee and a reviewer for a number of conferences and journals, including ICICT'2012.
He pays attention to research related to wireless communications, e-learning, digital signal processing, e-learning and digital communications. He has published a book in the field of digital communications, and more than 12 articles in local and international journals and conferences, in addition to contributions to several books.
He received numerous certificates of appreciation from several conferences.
He received a scholarship for academic exchange/fellowship program between Al-Quds Open University and the University of Parma, Italy, within the (ROMOR) project.
Member of the scientific committee in several scientific conferences organized by Al-Quds Open University.
Extensive experience in the field of academic work (faculty member in the Department of Information and Communication Technology).
Participating in the preparation and opening of new specializations in the College of Technology and Applied Sciences, such as the Information Security minor and the (Libraries and Information Technology) major.
