Nassar Rashid Ibrahim was born in Beit Sahour on August 20, 1953. He is married and has two daughters. He belongs to the Ta'amra Arabs and lives in Beit Sahour . He received his high school diploma from Bethlehem Boys' High School in 1972. He enrolled in a Greek university to study engineering, but did not complete it. He obtained a bachelor's degree in sociology from the Lebanese University in 1996, and then a master's degree in development and international relations from Bethlehem University in 2007 .
Ibrahim worked in the media and served as editor-in-chief of Al-Hadaf magazine, published in Beirut, from 1994 to 1998. He returned to Palestine and worked in several centers and institutions concerned with cultural, media, and political fields, such as the Alternative Information Center and the Jadl Center for Culture and Arts. He was also a member of the boards of directors of various institutions, including the Global Movement for the Defense of Children and the Alternative Center for Refugees. He is the chairman of the board of trustees of the Nineveh Center for Culture and Arts.
Ibrahim has published numerous books and studies, including "The Structural Role of Palestinian Labor in the Israeli Economy: A Critical Analytical Reading," published in Damascus in 1997; his first short story collection, "The Assassination of the Dog," co-authored with Dr. Majed Nassar and published in 2003, which has been translated into four languages: English, German, French, and Spanish; "The Palestinian Intifada: A Cry for Freedom," published shortly after the outbreak of the Second Intifada in 2000; and "Palestinian Resistance in the Face of the Stupidity of Power," a collection of strategic analytical articles written in collaboration with Dr. Majed Nassar. He also published his master's thesis in 2011, titled "The Illusion of Development Under Occupation: Motives for Political Funding of Palestinians." A booklet titled "Colonial Democracy" was published by the Alternative Information Center. He regularly contributes analytical articles on current events to various local and Arab newspapers and websites.
Ibrahim belonged to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and his leftist leanings were rooted during his studies in Greece, where he was exposed to intellectual, media, and political work.
Ibrahim believes that the Israeli occupation is based on religious axioms and denies the Palestinian existence, and that there is no solution except by changing the nature of the occupation. This imposes on the Palestinians a prolonged resistance based on the fact that Palestine is part of the Arab world .
Ibrahim believes that the Oslo Accords were strategically and politically bad, and came about under difficult circumstances experienced by the Arabs and Palestinians. He also believes that the Palestinian division is one of the biggest disasters for the Palestinian people and their cause, and that everyone is responsible for it, including the factions and civil society forces.
Ibrahim believes in the right of Palestinians to resist in all its forms, including armed struggle—a position recognized by international laws and conventions. He calls for regulating the weapons of the resistance according to a political vision and adherence to the ethics of the revolution, ensuring that bullets remain clean . He also advocates for the inclusion of Islamic movements in the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) based on commitment to Palestinian principles and rights, considering this an urgent necessity for any people striving for liberation from a powerful and oppressive enemy .
