Adania Shibli is a Palestinian writer, based in Berlin. She twice won the A.M. Qattan Foundation Award for Young Writers for her novels “Masas” and “We are all equally far from love.”

Adania Shibli was born in Palestine in 1974 and lives in Berlin. She obtained her PhD from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of East London in 2009.

She has been working as a visiting professor in the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies at Birzeit University since 2013.

Shibli twice won the Novel Prize in the Young Writer’s Competition issued by the A.M. Qattan Foundation:

The first in 2001 for her novel “Masas”,
The second was in 2003 for her novel, “We are all equally far from love.”
Her novel, A Minor Detail, has been longlisted for the International Booker Prize, awarded by the Man Booker Foundation in London, 2021.
