Farah Shamma, a Palestinian poet originally from Safed, was born in the United Arab Emirates in 1994. Farah Shamma speaks six languages, including Arabic, English, and French. She is one of the youngest members of the Poeticians, a group of poets from the Middle East, and is also a key member of the group Shalat Al Farah, which blends music with spoken word poetry.

Farah Shamma is a poet of Palestinian origin from the city of Safed, born in the Emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates in 1994. At the age of eighteen, Farah moved to Brazil and lived there for four months, and from there she learned the Portuguese language. Farah studied at the Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, majoring in law and political science. During her studies at the university, she learned the French language first, and then the German and Spanish languages. In her final year at university, she moved to France and lived there for a while. Shamma began her poetic career at the age of fourteen, when she began writing some poems and reciting them on stage in different languages. Since 2008, Shamma has participated in many poetry evenings and festivals, including the “Sikkat Art Exhibition” organized by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, and the “Sip of Poetry” symposium that was held in Abu Dhabi in 2012. She also participated in the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature in its twelfth session, which A session was organized under the title “What Poetry Presents to Identity”, in which a number of brilliant poets gathered, including Farah Shamma, the American-Colombian poet Carlos Andres Gomez, and the Emirati poet Afra Ateeq. She is one of the youngest members of Poeticians, a group of brilliant poets from the Middle East run by Hind Choufani. Shamma is now completing her MA in Performing Arts at Goldsmiths University in London. She wrote many poems, including the poem “Nationality”, “From Right to Left” and “I Am Not Palestinian”. In her poems, Farah touched on many topics such as her Palestinian identity and her struggles with nationality. Lashma also has a “podcast” under the name “Maqsouda” with the Lebanese poet Zina Hashem Bey, which is about discussions and conversations about Arabic poetry.
