Great Masters of Classical Music’ book, authored by the writer Mr. Victor
Nasrallah Srouji. The English translation builds on the success of the original
Arabic edition, with the goal of enabling this documented work to reach a wider
audience of readers, researchers, and classical music enthusiasts worldwide.
Publishing the book reflects the ongoing
commitment of TAG-Publish to promoting intellectual and cultural works in line
with the directives of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, TAG.GD founder and chairman,
to enrich both Arab and international libraries with high-quality publications
that effectively contribute to spreading knowledge and fostering cultural
dialogue among nations.
The book is based on the radio program prepared
and presented by the writer via Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Business and Culture
Radio, which has since transitioned to Talal
Abu-Ghazaleh Global Podcast (TAG.GD.Podcast) which was broadcast over 64 hours.
The program highlighted the lives and creative journeys, timeless masterpieces
of classical music through a rich combination of historical storytelling and
musical analysis, enabling readers to deeply understand this shared human
musical heritage.
Moreover, the publication serves as a cultural
reference documenting the lives and innovations of a select group of the most
famous classical composers who left an enduring legacy in global art history.
It also contributes to spreading musical culture and cultivating appreciation
for fine arts across generations.
The author dedicated this edition to the Arab intellectual,
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, in appreciation of a friendship spanning more than six
decades. The dedication honors Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh's pioneering contributions to promoting
culture, thought, and arts, as well as his continuous support for cultural and knowledge
initiatives, and his firm belief that knowledge and culture are fundamental pillars
for building societies and shaping the future.
This edition also expresses Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh's
vision of spreading a culture of knowledge, encouraging creativity, supporting
authors and creators, and making intellectual production accessible to the
widest possible audience. This is driven by his belief that investing in
culture and knowledge is the most sustainable investment in human development.
Within its pages, the book underlines Dr.
Abu-Ghazaleh’s prominent role in supporting and promoting classical music across
generations through his patronage of various global musical initiatives and
activities. His efforts were recognized with an exceptional tribute from the
French Palais Garnier Opera; where his name was carved at the entrance of the opera
house in recognition of his international contributions to classical music.
It is worth mentioning that the
thinker and writer Mr. Srouji authored several works, among the most prominent
of of them is “Salome Dances at the White House”.
